Vintage Copper Wall Sconce, with original shade frame
Very unusual copper wall sconce, with original shade holder. Metal back plate
"peened", or some type of hammered indentation for decoration. Measures
14.5" tall, 7.5" wide and a projection of 6".
This most likely had a panel shade, made of a waxed paper (manila file folder weight) that was laced together on the sides around the posts, laced for decoration around the bottom, attached to the top of the shade, with possibly a stenciled design on the panels. Mica panels cut and stitched would also work, but the frame for the shade
is not strong enough to support the weight of glass.
